Review the document before uploading
On a phone, a layout issue can be easier to miss. Open the source document first and skim the pages, especially tables, images, and page numbers, before starting the conversion.
Choose the actual file
If the document lives inside a cloud app, make sure it has finished downloading before you select it. Some apps show only a preview while the converter needs access to the real file.
Let the download finish
When conversion finishes, give the browser time to complete the PDF download before closing the page or switching apps. On a slow connection, the result can appear before the file has finished saving locally.
Open the final PDF once
Before submitting an assignment or sending the document, open the generated PDF and confirm page count, headings, and tables. This final check matters even more on mobile because a small screen can hide layout problems.
Make sure you select the latest copy
Cloud and file apps can show several similarly named versions. Before converting, check the modification time or open a page containing a recent edit. One of the most frustrating mistakes is not a failed conversion; it is successfully converting and submitting an older copy.
Edit the source when possible, not the final PDF
If you spot a word or number that needs changing after conversion, it is usually cleaner to edit the original Word document and create a new PDF. Repeatedly patching the final copy can leave the editable source and the submitted version out of sync.
